角紅蟹蛛可以橫著行走姿勢與螃蟹相似。雄蛛背甲通常紅褐色，上面分佈有許多小瘤突。雌蛛背甲米黃色。眼區紅褐色，像是戴著一副眼罩。腹部似梯形，白色或者黃色，與花瓣顏色相融合，起到保護色效果，導致較難被捕食者發現。角紅蟹蛛雖然行動緩慢，但它們有著高超的生存手段，常常躲藏在灰莉或者鬼針草的花瓣上耐心地等待獵物。也有愛好者觀察到角紅蟹蛛有時會悄悄潛入豬籠草上，用一根長長的蛛絲吊住自身，從外面進入豬籠草的捕蟲囊內偷吃被淹死的昆蟲，真是一群機智的蜘蛛。
