這個屬的典型特徵是，該物種的雄性體型小且不起眼，但雌性體型較大且色彩鮮豔。它的長度通常約為 8 毫米，不包括腿。甲殼上覆蓋著一層緻密的白毛。腹部呈亮橙色，大致呈三角形，背部有 12 個黑點，排成兩行，邊緣有 6 個黑色尖刺，後角的兩個最長 。
