大帆玫瑰鯽是一種熱帶觀賞魚。幼魚體上泛銀白色，随著成長，背上銀白，背侧黄綠色，后身有一黑圓斑，背鰭上也有黑斑。繁殖期間出現婚姻色，雄魚全身呈玫瑰紅色，鮮豔美丽。性情活潑好群，但有欺小之癖，不宜与其它魚共養。
