藍月螯蝦，原產於印尼、新幾內亞，是當地一種特色蝦種，身體顏色為藍色，在雙螯上有白色的月斑形狀，故而得名“藍月龍蝦”，身體背部有堅硬的外殼，尾部有扇尾，為橘黃色，在它莊重的藍色底上增添了一抹亮色，使它顯得莊重而不陳腐，頭部有兩對觸角，體型龐大，壽命可達3—4年，在鼇蝦中算是壽命比較長的一種蝦類了。
