卷葉曇花全身無刺，莖葉肉質化，比較軟，直立性差，多做垂吊盆栽，分枝多，株型緊湊，掛起來像瀑布一樣，對花盆種植也很適應。它的莖葉是卷起來的，微微彎曲，彎卷扭曲，和火龍果葉子相似，具有立體感，不開花的時候也很有觀賞性。它的花朵在開完之後會結果子，紅色的小果子，像火龍果一樣，掛在葉子上，能觀葉、賞花、聞香和觀果，果子內部是白色，可食用。
