Scolopendra subspinipes mutilans
It likes to live in moist and dark places, mostly in rotten wood, between rocks and in damp grassland. Sexually photophobic, nocturnal, preying on insects and other small animals. When the weather turns cold in October, they burrow into deep soil to survive the winter. After being stung the following year, the weather got warmer and they came out of their holes to look for food. Eggs are laid between spring and summer. The female curls up her body, surrounds the eggs for hatching, and protects the larvae [2]. It hunts insects (such as crickets, grasshoppers, scarabs and various moths) in the dark, and can also kill small vertebrates (such as sparrows, lizards, snakes, etc.) with its venomous jaws. They are also cannibalistic. Generally after October, when the weather turns cold, they burrow into the soil and spend the winter lurking in the soil 10-13 cm deep from the ground. After the wake of hibernation the following year, as the weather gets warmer, they come out of their holes to look for food.
