舊金山黃鑽水虎 ( Serrasalmus spilopleura )
舊金山黃鑽水虎是Serrasalmus（S屬）中比較容易養出狀態的品種，經過訓練後可以巡遊，也可以學會追手和接食。養定後的狀態和互動比其他水虎更高，且捕食積極。在水虎裏具有很高的觀賞性。互動性高，價格適中，養出狀態更快，這些優點都是多數“虎迷”選擇它的原因。
與其他水虎的黑白配色不同，舊金山水虎幼魚時是粉黃色且身上有小黑點。隨著魚的長大，這種保護色的僞裝會漸漸褪去，向背部逐漸變成銀底的金色（少數個體體側有黑色斑點的隱斑）。
大型猛魚中具有金銀閃光的魚不多，舊金山水虎在時間的沈澱和成長下會越來越漂亮，正如其名，像深夜中閃耀的黃鑽，在水流裏閃閃發光。合適的燈光加上簡單的沈木/底沙造景就能讓空缸再次充滿活力。
