球根秋海棠/玫瑰紅（Begonia × tuberhybrida Voss）
Begonia × tuberhybrida Voss是秋海棠科秋海棠屬植物，多年生常綠草本。株高20-60厘米左右。具有不規則的偏圓形塊莖，周圍長有網狀須根。地上莖肉質，多分枝，葉呈不規則心形、先端銳尖，基部偏斜，邊緣齒狀。腋生聚傘花序，雌雄同株異花；每個花序常開3朵花。花徑10-15厘米，色彩豐富。花被有單瓣、半重瓣及重瓣，瓣緣有絲狀、波皺狀或雞冠狀。花期很長，從5月開始至11月底結束，單花開放10-15天。蒴果三棱狀，有三翅。
球根秋海棠原產於秘魯和巴西等幾個南美國家。天然種生長在3000米高的山上。陽性，性喜溫暖、濕潤的半陰環境。生長適宜溫度為16-21℃，土壤以疏松、肥沃和微酸性為宜
