每一個體背鰭的白色外緣較一般玫瑰旗來得更加粗寬，並包裹著其中的黑色與紅色斑塊，少數個體的背鰭甚至全部呈現白色，因此視覺上覺得異常醒目。據聞本種為德國的人工改良種，不論公母，背鰭的白邊皆相當明顯，同時它們也保留原種在腹鰭與臀鰭末端的鮮白色部位。本種適合群養，格外養眼。
