弓箭鼠魚是一種比較容易飼養的底棲類觀賞魚，因嘴巴旁邊長著兩撮“小鬍鬚”，酷似老鼠而得名。背鰭為黑色，再從背鰭下方延伸至尾部，如同一把弓箭，眼部像是戴著黑色眼罩，喜好偏肉食性食物。它們對疾病的抵抗能力強，食慾旺盛，對食物和水質沒有什麼特別的要求。這類魚喜歡群居，同時也可以選擇一些溫和的小型魚混養。
