近年紅水晶蝦的飼養在日本十分風行，最近熱潮也席捲臺灣，讓許多玩家為之著迷。飼養上，紅水晶蝦十分重視水質，若水質不佳，會出現體色轉淡或驟然死亡的現象。平時溫度也不易過高，水溫超過30℃會讓水中溶氧量大減，增加個體大量死亡的幾率。餵食方面最好多樣化，可投以人工飼料，或餵食無農藥污染的菠菜或小松菜，以補充鈣質，值得注意的是，必須小心投餌過量所造成的水質污染惡劣化。
