梅花飛船魚，其實是非洲攀鱸屬的一種攀鱸科觀賞魚。
因為它們的幼體形態，體表兩側有很多類似於梅花的密集斑點，身形看起來就像小飛船，所以在魚店裏被稱為：梅花飛船魚。
在自然野生環境下，梅花飛船魚善於潛伏在水面植物比較密集的地方，光線相對昏暗的水域來伏擊各種活物，因此在飼養環境的搭配上，昏暗的光線和暗色調環境，更能促進它們的活躍度表現。不建議與小型魚蝦混養。
