The white-spotted pike is a large, ferocious carnivorous fish that eats a lot. Under natural conditions, juvenile fish are docile and often live in groups. They mainly feed on plankton such as rotifers, small cladocerans, and copepods. When they reach 5 to 7 centimeters in length, they will prey on other fish. Adult fish will eat alone. They inhabit and feed throughout the year, but stop feeding during the reproductive period.
