深紫寄居蟹體色通常為紫藍色、紫色或者藍色。紫陸寄居蟹的眼睛呈四角形。除體色外，和灰白陸寄居蟹十分相似。螯腳、胸足的關節明顯呈黃褐色。左螯背側排列著斜形顆粒，會發出“吱吱”聲。
Tips：紫陸寄居蟹年幼時是乳白色/紅色的，但隨著成長，紫色的部分會漸漸增加，最後身體完全變成紫色。如需購買紫色個體請購買大號。
