火焰南天竹 Heavenly Bamboo ( Nandina domestica ' Firepower ' )
Nandina domestica, commonly called heavenly bamboo, is a shrub native to Japan, China and India. The compact shrub provides stunning vivid colour throughout growing seasons. Its foliage start out in fresh green coloration, and turn orange-red as it ages. It bears clusters of small, star-shaped white flowers in flowering mid-summer, in contrast with bamboo-like leaves. The plant typically grows to 2 feet in both height and width. 'Firepower' Nandina grows best in moist soil under partial and full sun, and it is one of the toughest houseplants that will only need watered during extremely hot or dry days. You will never get bored of this heavenly bamboo - with its leaves transforming from yellowish green to fire-red throughout the year, it is an ideal addition for creating liveliness in your garden.
