珍愛辣椒榕產於中加裏曼丹，更詳細產地還沒有公佈，由日本採集者中本勝也(Nakamoto Katuya)將它命名為Cherish(中文譯成''珍愛'')辣椒榕。
因為是第三種被發現的品種所以被稱為珍愛辣椒榕-3型。它在產地主要生長於靠近水源的岩石上，少部分水下生長於砂質底床，可能有陸生、水生或半水生等三種生態。
