溝紋硬皮地蛛黑色種，腿粗短，移動緩慢，無法攀爬光滑平面，無需擔心暴走。毒牙超級細長，這種結構可能是為了透過封閉的洞穴刺中在洞穴上方活動的獵物。但在人工環境下餵食時這種毒牙極易折斷。
這種蜘蛛受到威脅時不會像大多數蜘蛛一樣抬起身體，但是會抬起毒牙並且毒牙略微張開。
